A man believed to be Sudanese has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a "brutal" knife attack in Belfast, police have said. The man, in his 30s, remains in custody after the incident in north Belfast at about 22:30 BST on Monday. Profits at oil giant Shell have risen in the first three months of the year following the sharp increase in oil prices since the beginning of the Iran war. Shell reported profits of $6.92bn (£5.1bn) for the first quarter, which was higher than analysts had expected and up from $5.58bn in the same period a year earlier. Three patients with suspected hantavirus have been evacuated from the MV Hondius cruise ship and are en route to the Netherlands, the WHO's chief has said. Spirit Airlines is shutting down as a business after failing to secure a $500m (£368m) bailout from the Trump administration. The budget airline was in talks with the US government about a rescue deal which would have saved it from collapse. But, discussions collapsed and the carrier said in an announcement on its website on Saturday that with "great disappointment" the airline had "started an orderly wind-down of our operations, effective immediately". All upcoming flights with Spirit have been cancelled.
